Regardless of how strongly felt ones emotions are, or how well reasoned ones thoughts, consider the relative importance of the issue itself. There are, after all, plenty of matters to deal with, some more important personally than others. Select the ones that need to be won first, along the venue for voicing these. Recognize when one is just venting. And when the conclusion is a foregone one.
